Street Pastors
Who are the Street Pastors?
Street pastors are trained volunteers from local churches who care about their community.
Paisley pastors are out on the streets on a Saturday night from 11pm till 3.30am. Their Glasgow counterparts are out both Friday and Saturday nights from 10.30pm till 3.30-4am.
Members from a number of different congregations work on the street and also as prayer pastors.

A street pastor is someone who is…
- a Christian and is part of a local church;
- concerned for society and their local community;
- willing to engage with people, whatever their perspective on life and wherever they hang out;
- happy to work in a team and in collaboration with other agencies and projects, both statutory and voluntary.
Glasgow Safe Zone
Our Safe Zone in Glasgow serves as a compassionate haven for those in need during the night time hours. We welcome anyone who may have had too much to drink, found themselves in a vulnerable situation, become separated from friends, or simply needs a moment of respite from the busy city streets.
Within our warm and welcoming environment, our trained volunteers provide essential care and support, including basic first aid assistance, hot drinks, water, and a comfortable place to rest and recover. Most importantly, we offer a non-judgmental listening ear to anyone who needs someone to talk to, whether they’re dealing with immediate concerns or deeper personal issues.
Our Safe Zone has become a well-known and trusted resource in Glasgow’s nightlife, with many local residents, students, and visitors knowing they can turn to us for help. We work closely with local emergency services, venues, and other community partners to ensure that vulnerable people can access the support they need.
Whether someone needs practical assistance, emotional support, or help getting home safely, the Street Pastors are here to provide care and ensure their wellbeing.
